Beetroot Monika

Bolt resistant so can be sown early. Monogerm so produces mainly one seedling per cluster meaning almost no thinning. Bred so the flesh is at its best when cooked.

For Outdoor Sowing

When - March - July

Where - In a prepared seed bed.

How - Sow thinly in rows 30cm (12in) apart.

Cover with 2.5cm (1in ) of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist . Seedling appear 7- 21 days. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks.

Care - when large enough thin to 10cm (4in) apart. Keep moist and weed free.

Harvest - June - October, start to harvest when golf ball size for baby beet. Twist the tops off as this prevents bleeding.
