Lettuce Osterley (Speedy Salads) Harvest after 28 days.
Bred to use as baby salad leaves, the crisp and juicy cos leaves have a sweet mild flavour. Easy to grow, with resistance to downy mildew and Lettuce Mosaic Virus.
For Outdoor Sowing:
When- March to August in large pots, containers, growing bags or a seed bed.
How - Sow thinly in a pot or tub approx. 30cm (12in) diameter and 25cm (10in) deep, or in rows 25cm (10in) apart. Cover lightly with 1.5cm (half inch) of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks.
Care - For baby leaves, thin to 5cm (2in) apart if plants are crowded. Keep moist and weed free.
Harvest - April to October. Pick individual baby leaves as required, a few from each plant, they will regrow for up to 4 cuts. Pick larger leaves or whole heads once matured.
