Spinach Bloomsdale (Heritage Collection)

Spinacia oleracea 'Bloomsdale' Common name :Spinach

High yield of tender and well-flavoured dark green, blistered, savoyed leaves from successional spring and summer sowings to give a longer cropping period. Stands well without bolting during hot weather if kept well watered. Ideal for freezing.

Sowing Instructions: Sow March - July outdoors. Can be sown under cloches or frames in september. Sow seed thinly, 1cm (1/2in) deep in broad drills 30 cm (12in) apart.

Growing Instructions: Thin seedlings to 5cm (2in) apart when large enough to handle, thinnings will be suitable for use in salads. Harvest leaves as required, picking only a few from each plant. Keep plants well watered during hot, dry weather.

Serving Suggestion: Lightly steam to retain nutritional content.
