Leek Bleu de Solaise (Heritage Collection)

Reliable winter variety with short,heavy stems. Extremely winter hardy for Christmas to April harvest. The blue leaves may tinge purple during extremely cold weather. Distrinctive bluish leaves make it an attractive dot plant in the flower borders.

Sowing Instructions: Sow thinly, 1cm (1/2in) deep in drills 23cm (9in) apart in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth.

Growing Instructions: when large enough to handle transplant into final position, 23cm (9in) apart. Water ground reglarly, especially during dry periods. Earth up soil around the stems as they develop.

Serving suggestion: Use leeks as an exciting addition to the traditional dish of Cauliflower Cheese.
