Cucumber (Gherkin) Cornichon de Paris (Vegetable Explorer 14214)

This is a French hierloom variety which had long been sold in the markets of Paris and used to produce small, crisp pickled cornichon gherkin. It is sometimes added as a seasoning to the classic dish of steak tartare but is more commonly served with cold meats and terrines. Each plant produces numerous fruits that are harvested at approx. 2.5cm (1in) long.
