Chicory (Witloof) Zoom F1 Vegetable Explorer (10553)

An excellent forcing variety that produces lovely chicons that are so expensive to buy in the supermarket. In the autumn the plants leaves are removed and the new tender chicon is forced in the dark to produce this delicacy. Very popular in northern France, Belgium and Holland it can be eaten raw in salads or whole heads can be braised, steamed or baked au gratin.
